Cut her off. My sister returned my prom dress with a cigarette burn in 2002 and we still only talk at Christmas because Mom makes us. This is a whole college.
I'd still say one day, just not soon. Someone who does this is usually terrified of being left behind, and she should have to spend years earning it back.
