My second baby slept better, and it was not because I had got wiser

We did two things differently: a sidecar cot from the first day, and no attempt to train him to silence. He napped in the living room with the kitchen, his sister and music going, and at night he lay beside me but on his own surface. He moved into his own cot later almost without a fight.
